That’s not, of course, saying that sexual attraction or desire is a major component of being a furry. It’s not. What it IS saying, though, is that attraction to certain furry characters or furry types on some level does at least make itself present in the mind now and then.
It’s sort of like being a human being. Sexual identity, thought, or perception is far from being a constant for humans. But it is the very rare human who doesn’t consider it at all. (This even includes many who consider themselves asexual. Even they think about sexual identity and attraction at times. They just usually do it less frequently and with a different personal reaction.)
Besides, it was still a point worth making because many people DO make that mistake in their misconceptions. Which also makes it not unreasonable to err on the side that you weren’t being sarcastic and instead were simply taking offense to the joke on the grounds of not liking said common mistake those who aren’t part of furry-dom DO frequently make. (Often due to media misrepresentation.)

Y’know, I’ve been checking up on your comic every now and again for about a month, but I don’t think I ever said this: The whole reason I started reading it was because of your art style.
When I first saw the ad for it, I thought “Wow! When did Rick Griffin start doing another comic series?” But once I started to read and see the differences, I fell in love with your style.
